Deanne Knutzen Nevitt
A descendant of Jess Hansen Knutzen one of the earliest settlers in the Skagit Valley – and the granddaughter of one of the founders of the company that later became known as “Land Title” – Deanne Knutzen Nevitt is a Skagit Valley native in the truest sense of the word. Born and raised in the valley, Deanne has been involved in the Burlington business community as the Manager of Knutzen’s of Burlington, a successful clothing store featuring apparel for women and children. In addition, she is a past President of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce, and a charter member of Soroptimist International of Burlington.
Deanne’s community involvement didn’t end there, however. The Citizen’s Advisory Council, the Cancer Walk of the American Cancer Society, and the Bayview Women’s Run have all benefited enormously from her involvement. Her past work as a Program Coordinator for the Culinary Arts Hospitality Management program created ties with many businesses in the area.
Currently, Deanne is working with the Northwest Educational Service District, located in Anacortes.
With 50 years of marriage to their credit, Deanne and husband Dick Nevitt reside on Samish Island. Their growing family includes three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, most of which live in Skagit County.
